STAR COUNCIL AWARD
Our Knights of Columbus Council 7297 at St. Edmond Church has received the distinction of Star Council, the international Knights of Columbus top award for local councils.
The Star Council award recognizes overall excellance in the areas of membership (181% of quota), promotion of fraternal insurance benefits, sponsorship of faith formation programs and service-oriented activities.
Our Council Program Activities include:

Our Council Program Activities include:
- Collecting 144 winter coats to 2 community agencies to be distributed to children in need.
- Obtaining & distributing 800 hot dogs/700 bottles of water to Sussex Consortium Pond Walk (a school for children with physical and learning challenes.)
- Contributing $6,550 in monetary donations for various community organizations.
- Conducting 2 American Red Cross Blood drives resulting in donations of 170 pints of blood.
- Entering the only religious oriented float in the 2022 Rehoboth Beach Christmas Parade.
- Providing sacramental gifts to our Religious Ed Students.
- Offering Spriritual/financal support for seminarians in our diocese.
- Sponsoring an All Souls day reception for St. Edmond parishioners.
- Conducting Consecration to the Holy Family Rosary Services.
- Distributing Mother's Day Roses to benefit Birthright of Delaware.
- Conducting Tootsie Roll Drives to benefit Special Olympics, Autism of Delaware/Chimes organization.
- Selling Keep Christ in Christmas cards, candles and other religious objects at cost, as well as sponsoring a Keep Christ in Christmas Poster Contest for our Religious Ed Students.
- Providing 18 volunteers to fill all positions for our parish's Corpus Christi Eucharistic Procession.
- Along with many more activities too numberous to mention!
RESOLUTION OF CONDOLENCES

Mary Nelson, wife of our deceased Brother Fred Nelson, was presented with a Certificate of Resolution of Condolences at our monthly social gathering on June 27th. Grand Knight Bob Wolhar presents Mary with the certificate.

They processed from St. Edmond's Church down to the boardwalk, towards the bandstand, where they did a blessing with the Monstrance. They then walked up to 1st street and turned towards St. Edmond.
Celebrated in the Church since 1264, Corpus Christi bagan after a miracle in which a priest who doubted teh True Presence in the Eurcharist had the Host bleed one day afer he celebrated Mass. The corporal on which the host bled is still visible today in the Cathedral of Orvieto, Italy. The Star of the Sea Council arranged the event with many members of the council participating.
