Meet the Seminarian Supported by our Council
Date: 1/30/26
Good Evening,
Thank you so much for reaching out! I hope and pray that yourself, the rest of the knights, and the wider community in Rehoboth were safe and sound today. The roads are still somewhat obstructed, but our spirits are high at St. Mary’s. Some of the men took advantage of the weather and played tackle football on the front lawn. We also had the rare opportunity to have the entire community home for Sunday Mass and Lunch, which usually does not occur because most of us are assigned to parishes in the city on Sunday’s. All in all, things are going very well.
The semester had kicked off rather abruptly, we begin the spring semester immediately upon returning to seminary in early January. I am taking a class in Old Testament scripture, the Gospels (excluding John, which is its own class), and three additional theology classes: one on the spiritual life, the moral life, and on Theology in general. It's a pretty dense semester, yet life at the seminary is complemented with many activities outside of study. Between classes and prayer, we've had and will have many in-house socials, such as our Lunar New Year celebration with hundreds of local Vietnamese Catholics (a professor of ours is a prominent figure in the Vietnamese diaspora). As head of events for our lounge, I am responsible for planning and running many of these upcoming gatherings.
Thank you for keeping me up to date with the work of the council! I am very glad to hear of the success of the Baby Bottles campaign! As Bishop Conley of Lincoln, Nebraska communicated during his homily at this year's Vigil for the March for life, the aim of the pro life moment is to not only make abortion illegal, but unthinkable. So much of this goal is achieved in guaranteeing assistance to women and children in need, and the money raised by this council will certainly go a long way in that respect.
Thank you once again for your continued communications and for your support of my formation. I do apologize for my lack of diligence in keeping up with you all. Please be assured of my prayers, and please continue to pray for all of us in formation for the Diocese of Wilmington, and for those who may have a call to serve our diocese as priests.
In Christ,
Tibor Nagy

A Prayer for Vocations to the Priesthood
|
Heavenly Father, in every age, You call men
to serve at Your altar as Your priests and servants of Your people to witness to the Gospel and to be like Your Son, the Great High Priest. Through the intercession of St. Francis de Sales, Patron Saint of the Diocese of Wilmington, please grant our Diocese many good and holy priests; Help me to discern what You want for my life, and always give me the courage to say Yes to You. May I not lose heart in considering my own weaknesses, but be willing to answer Your call, so You might fulfill your designs in me and I might accomplish Your Holy Will. Amen. |
