FAITH IN ACTION
In April 2018, our Supreme Knight Carl Anderson announced a new model to be used in the conduct of programs throughout the Knights of Columbus. Four categories of activity were specified under the banner of “Faith in Action”: Faith, Family, Community and Life. This recasting has given us the opportunity to evaluate services to our parish, families and community. As part of our Faith programs, the men of Star of the Sea Council want to make clear our Support of Vocations. We have undertaken two ways to do this. First, we have implemented an “Elijah Cup” ministry within our Council. You can learn more about this effort by clicking here; members can sign up to participate on the same page. Second, we are making a commitment to Seminarian Support. As our prayers are answered that people answer the call to vocations, we need to do more. Each year, will reach out to at least one seminarian, both financially and spiritually. Click here to learn more. Another part of our Faith programs is to ensure that we have a presence and provide support to individuals and families during the most important events in the life of the domestic church: the sacraments. In fact, we are expanding this program to include more of the youth in our parish. Learn more about our Sacramental Gifts program by clicking here. A third aspect of our Faith programs is Spiritual Reflection. Under the guidance of our chaplain, we will organize an event to provide the opportunity to enjoy and participate in spiritual reflection with other Brothers. |
